Everyone wants to look pretty! Well, I do! And, we tend to rely on hundreds of beauty products for that picture perfect look. In the past few years, YouTube has turned into a platform for beauty gurus. There are thousands of videos on how to apply makeup, look good and buy the right cosmetics. Unfortunately, you must not be addicted to the YouTube trend.
Here are few reasons why I stopped watching YouTube beauty videos.
#1 Too Cute
There something unreal about the beauty gurus. They are extremely bubbly and cute. Something didn’t seem right. People show off in many ways and appearing cute is one of them. It is impossible for 80% of the YouTube beauty gurus to be cute.
#2 Lengthy
Most videos have lengthy introductions. It is difficult to reach the right point. As a result, you spend lots of time watching the beauty videos. Busy people with tight schedules cannot waste so many hours watching YouTube beauty gurus.
#3 Sponsored Content
It is very difficult to find honesty in sponsored videos. Some channels try to hide their sponsors. Yet, they fail miserably. Sponsored content is similar to endorsements! As a result, we end up buying products that are meaningless and expensive. You find only a handful of reliable vloggers.
#4 Generic
Moving on, it is very difficult to spot vloggers with unique qualities. Most of them wear and talk alike. More than 90% of the vloggers stick to high-waist skirts, stick to coffee and choose crop tops. The public demands unique tastes and vloggers fail here.
#5 Not Nerdy, Not Dorky
Most of the vloggers try to appear nerdy or dorky. Unfortunately, they do a very bad job! Some of them are extremely annoying. They identify themselves as “nerds”. Genuinely, people love to hear from real nerds. But, not the fake ones!
#6 Expensive Looks
Most YouTube beauty gurus stick to wild and expensive brands. Most people listen to YouTube beauty gurus for affordable solutions. If they are planning to wear and sell expensive brands, it is an absolute waste of time. After all, most viewers watch vloggers because they are unable to buy expensive, glamorous brands.
#7 Extremely Shallow
Though the person on the screen appears bubbly and good, there is something unnatural about them. Deep below, there is someone else who wants to sell a product/service to you! Due to their shallow minds, they end up blabber too!
